The Polaris Panthers kicked off their 2018 football season this past Thursday against the River Oaks Baptist Raiders. The Panthers got off to a good start on defense with a couple sacks led by 8th grader Carmello Branford. The Panthers couldn’t hold on though, as the Red Raiders would go on to score a 10 yard touchdown in the first series. Starting quarterback Jaleel Williams started the game off well completing 2/3 in the opening series with help from wide receiver Trenquan Johnson. The Panthers did manage to hold the score to 8-0 for the first half, but struggled to push the ball down field on offense. The Red Raiders would go on to score 2 more touchdowns for a grueling 20-0 to finish the game. The Panthers look to bounce back with an exciting district match up at home against KIPP Intrepid Tuesday Sept. 11th at 5pm .
